Having been in a executive role and an engineering role for over 20
years the one thing that I always would have liked to have is
someone looking over my shoulder to make sure that the direction I
was taking made sense. I made more than my fair share of
mistakes that cost the companies I worked for thousands of
dollars.
Virtualization has become very important in many companies
architecture. The problem is that many people who evaluate your
current environment don't know what they are doing. They attend a
seminar and they think they understand what is needed but they
never really get the whole picture.
Want I wanted to do is to take the knowledge that I have and that of
my employees and give the market a low cost way to give
managers and executives the opportunity to have what they are
planning to deploy a review by a disinterested party.
I called many of the people who have worked for me in the past with
many different skills and wanted to know if they would be interested
in reviewing some documents for me for which they would be paid
on a per item basis.
These engineers are some of the best in their areas and have an
average of 15 years experience. So what I am selling is not straight
consulting because these guys have other jobs but they like the
idea of making a little extra money on the side.
I have been doing this now for three years and have been very
successful in helping companies save money.
Most companies have great people to do the work but often they
lack experience in architecting the new solution because there are
areas outside of
their expertise hat is where we come in and where most money is
wasted.
